In the current situation, most Cambodian students are literate in using mobile phones for learning. Feedback from school principals and teachers indicates that students use phones primarily for playing games and enjoying social media a lot. Why, then, do they need to use mobile phones for learning?
In the twenty-first century, students not only sit in the classroom and listen to the teacher, but they also need to explore the lesson before class to enhance their existing knowledge, making it easier for them to understand new content.

Mr. Chhay Sophearun, he is a Math teacher at Samlout High School said, ‘By using the mobile phone for learning, his students can learn the lesson faster than using traditional teaching’.
He mentioned that,
- Save time: In the Math section, students need to practice exercises extensively, but due to time constraints, they need more time to finish the activities in class.
- Improve Student Critical Thinking Skills: They read the lesson beforehand, take notes, search for information, analyze, and answer questions before class.
- Provide opportunities for students to explore and learn something new: The students have implemented constructivist learning methods, working with peers and engaging in group activities, making the classroom very active.
Because mobile phones have many advantages, school principals, teachers, and parents should support teaching and learning through their use in the classroom. Schools and the parent community should explore ways to support digital learning activities.
