Strengthening Cambodia’s Teacher Professional Development Through Digital Integration

August 8, 2025

As part of Cambodia’s ongoing efforts to modernize and enhance the quality of education, a significant step forward is being taken to digitize and streamline the country’s teacher professional development system. EMCAST, in close collaboration with the Teacher Development Department of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MoEYS), is preparing to launch an API connection between the STTC platform and the CPDMIS (Continuous Professional Development Management Information System).

This initiative is designed to boost both efficiency and transparency in how teacher training records are managed and recognized. Once implemented, the API will allow training data from the STTC platform to be automatically synchronized with the CPDMIS database. This means that teachers who complete training courses on the STTC platform will no longer need to go through time-consuming, paper-based processes to receive credit. Instead, they will be able to submit their credit requests digitally, with just a few clicks, directly through the platform.

The system offers multiple benefits:

  • Reduces administrative workload through automation
  • Ensures data accuracy by eliminating manual entry
  • Enables real-time tracking of teacher progress and outcomes
  • Supports national digital transformation goals

Behind the scenes, technical teams are working closely to align both platforms. They are coordinating on security protocols, data format compatibility, and operational procedures to guarantee seamless and secure communication between STTC and CPDMIS.

More than just a technical upgrade, this API integration is a milestone for Cambodia’s education sector. It represents a forward-looking, scalable digital solution that places teachers at the center of their own professional development journey, equipped with tools that are fast, transparent, and impactful. As this digital bridge takes shape, it marks a promising future for technology-enhanced teacher training in Cambodia.
