STEP UP CPD Program Continues to Strengthen STEM Education in Cambodia

As part of the ongoing STEP UP Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Program, an additional 125 STEM teachers from target schools across Phnom Penh, Kandal, Kampong Thom, Kratie, Kampot, and Tboung Khmum have successfully participated in the recent teacher training course.

Throughout the training, teachers demonstrated a strong commitment to professional growth, embracing new approaches to improve classroom practices. A close relationship was built between trainers and trainees, reflecting the program’s continuous improvement in training quality from one stage to the next.

One of the most remarkable changes observed during the training was the integration of digital tools in teaching and learning. Teachers learned to design and apply interactive materials using digital platforms—enhancing student engagement, creativity, and participation in STEM lessons. This digital shift marks a significant step toward modernizing classroom instruction in Cambodia.

The participating teachers continue to receive direct support and mentorship from core trainers, who provide guidance on lesson planning, digital content creation, and practical classroom application. These ongoing interactions ensure that the knowledge and skills gained during the training are effectively implemented to benefit students. The STEP UP CPD initiative continues to play a vital role in empowering Cambodian teachers, nurturing innovation, and advancing the quality of STEM education through technology and professional dedication.
