The journey toward educational excellence is a marathon, not a sprint. At the heart of this journey lies the STEP UP Project, a collaborative effort dedicated to transforming STEM education through sustainable teacher development.
On February 25th, EMCAST and the National Institute of Education (NIE) held a strategic monitoring meeting with 9 CPD Core Trainers. This meeting was a pivotal moment for Stage 2 of the STEP UP Project Season 5, focusing on ensuring that the impact of our training translates directly into the classroom.
From Theory to Practice: Tracking Stage 2 Progress
Following the successful completion of the Stage 1 offline seminars, 125 participating teachers have now transitioned into Stage 2. This phase is where the real transformation happens – moving beyond the lecture hall into active online learning and classroom assignments.
To ensure this transition is seamless, our CPD Managers met with Core Trainers to review the progress of these educators, ensuring that the momentum from Stage 1 continues to drive their professional growth.

Why This Monitoring Matters
Systematic monitoring is more than just a check-up; it is the backbone of quality assurance in education. During this session, we focused on three key pillars:
- Precision in Assessment (Rubric Calibration): For professional development to be effective, evaluation must be fair and objective. We worked closely with our Core Trainers to ensure a unified understanding of the Assessment Rubrics, allowing them to evaluate teacher performance with high accuracy and consistency.
- Field-Driven Solutions: Every classroom has its own unique environment. By identifying the real-world challenges faced by trainers and teachers on the ground, we were able to provide immediate, actionable feedback to optimize the learning journey for everyone involved.
- Building a Sustainable Ecosystem: Our CPD model is built on the philosophy of empowerment. By strengthening the capacity of NIE trainers and New Generation School (NGS) mentor teachers, we are creating a self-sustaining system where local leaders guide local progress independently.
Moving Toward Sustainability 🌏
At EMCAST, our mission extends beyond delivering content. We apply a rigorous methodology designed to enhance the expertise of local operators. By positioning Core Trainers at the center of the process, we ensure that high-quality STEM education isn’t just a one-time event, but a sustainable standard in the local educational landscape.
We are incredibly proud of the dedication shown by our trainers and teachers alike. Stay tuned as we continue to share more updates on their inspiring journey of professional growth!
