The Spark of Change in Kampong Cham: 101 Women Teachers, 5 Days, One Vision 🌟

April 24, 2026

The air in the PTTC (Provincial Teacher Training Center) in Kampong Cham was different this week. It wasn’t just the tropical heat; it was the electric hum of 101 inspiring women educators from 24 different schools coming together with a single, powerful goal: to redefine the future of Cambodian classrooms.

Our journey for the 7th Seminar actually began quietly on April 11th with an online pre-stage, but on April 21st, the story truly came to life through the vibrant energy and dedication of these female leaders.

A Journey of Transformation (Stage 1: April 21–25)

This wasn’t a seminar where you just sit and take notes. This was Stage 1: Know & Practice CBL (Competency-Based Learning) – a hands-on, action-packed marathon of growth designed to empower women as the primary architects of educational change.

Day 1: Bridging the Digital Divide πŸ’»

We started by empowering our “Smart Teachers.” From mastering Google Classroom to creating interactive content with H5P, the room was filled with the sound of clicking keyboards and “Aha!” moments. These women are proving that digital innovation is a key pillar of modern female leadership in education.

Day 2: Beyond Rote Memorization πŸ“š

How do we make students want to learn? We dove deep into PBL (Project-Based Learning) and the 5E Model. The teachers explored how to move away from “repeat after me” toward “let’s discover together,” bringing their unique empathetic perspectives to student-centered learning.

Day 3: The Art of ‘Backward Design’ ✍️

In a beautiful display of focus, our Math and Science teachers spent the day working in reverse. By starting with the final learning goal and designing the curriculum backward, they showed incredible meticulousness and vision, ensuring that every minute in the classroom serves a purpose.

Day 4: From Theory to the Spotlight 🎀

This was the heart of the week. Our teachers stepped into the spotlight, conducting Teaching Demos and engaging in PLC (Professional Learning Communities). There is something incredibly moving about seeing a community of women supporting one another, sharing feedback, and growing stronger together.

Day 5: Empowering the ‘Researcher’ Within 🏁

We concluded with Action Research. We aren’t just teaching our educators to follow a manual; we are empowering these women to be independent problem-solvers who can identify classroom challenges and solve them through data and reflection.

More Than Just a Seminar

Watching these 101 women tackle 7-hour daily grinds with smiles on their faces has been the ultimate inspiration. They are balancing numerous roles, yet their commitment to their students never wavered. The laughter during workshops and the pride during the closing ceremony reminded us that when you empower a woman in education, you empower an entire generation.

As these 101 teachers return to their 24 schools, they carry more than just certificates – they carry a new spark, a female-led revolution for Cambodian education. ❀️

Stay tuned for more updates as we continue this journey of empowerment!
